Welcome to Whispering Prairie Australian Cobberdog. My name is Stefanie, my husband Tim and our three children Joshua, Danica, and Aubrey. We are a small family-based breeder in Minnesota.
When researching dogs we wanted a breed that was loving, gentle, affectionate, playful, and eager to please. When typing in the requirements I found it! Australian Cobberdog. When Buxton and Allis came to our home, we knew we had found the perfect family dog.
Each litter is born and raised in our home. Our children help from whelping to finding the puppies forever families and everything in between.
The Australian Cobberdog is it’s own unique breed that features:
- strong human focus
- emotional warmth
- high intuition/intelligence
- high aptitude for training
- eye contact that draws you in
- playful sense of humor
- low/no shed, low allergy coat

We LOVE our cobberdog, Gru. He has the best temperament. He is easy going, gentle, playful, and caring. He was the perfect addition to our family. He is great in the car (thanks to Stefanie and her family for taking him for lots of rides as a puppy). He is easy to train because he picks up concepts easily and wants to please us. He is WONDERFUL with our children. He is cuddles with them, runs to them when they are sad, greets them excitedly every morning and when they get home from school. He and our other dog (an older labradoodle) are best friends. My parents also bought a cobberdog from the same litter. His name is Gibson. He has the same temperament and all the same traits. He is smaller than Gru. They spend a lot of time together and are always thrilled to be reunited.

We couldn't be more thrilled with our new family member, Higgins! From the moment he came into our lives, he's been an absolute delight. His playful spirit shines, especially when he's out in the snow or at the beach, where he can run around and enjoy the great outdoors. At the same time, he's the perfect cuddle buddy, always ready to snuggle up and bring warmth to any room.
Higgins has not only filled our home with joy, but he's also made a special connection with our friends and extended family. His loving and friendly nature has been a constant source of happiness for all of us. We're so grateful for the love and laughter he's brought into our lives, and we can't imagine our days without him. Truly a wonderful companion! Thank you so much!!
